IT was a sunny summer’s afternoon when these four teens from Bo’ness sailed across to Charleston harbour in Fife in the late 1950s.
Pictured left to right were: Janette Cunningham, Billy Carr, Hugh Don and Alex Murray.
Janette went on to marry Ian Don, who took the photo. The five were all members of the sea cadets in Bo’ness, which was based at Thomson and Balfour in the town.
They had crossed the Forth in a boat belonging to Hugh, Ian’s younger brother.
Community councillor Ian enjoys photography to this day, and was a prizewinner in the recent Bo’ness calendar photographic competition.
