ITS not every day you see a violinist in the dairy aisle and last Saturday Sainsbury’s had a full quartet.
The Roxburgh String Quartet, including violinist Uli Fenner, were entertaining customers at the local store as part of National Chamber Music Day, organised by Enterprise Music Scotland (EMS).
EMS is the national body for chamber music in Scotland, sending the best international soloists and music ensembles to perform across Scotland in cities, towns and villages, on islands and in rural communities.
For the second year running, National Chamber Music Day 2012 had over 75 musicians performing in unusual locations all over Scotland, including Sainsbury’s in Linlithgow.
