Here we go again. Education numpties making up the rules as they go along.
Putting teachers under increasing pressure for absolutely no reason.
Mike Russell, the Education Secretary, stated that it was “Utterly unacceptable that any school, head teacher or local authority should (produce) a smokescreen of bureaucracy and unnecessary paperwork. That needs to stop and it needs to stop now.” Well said, that man.
I have seen individuals within the education system bogged down by mountains of forms to be filled and reports to be written. Hours of family time wasted writing utterly pointless files. Files that nobody ever actually reads.
Further, it seems that HM Inspectors from Education Scotland have been critical of overly bureaucratic approaches. At last, the orders have been handed out that the workload is to be reduced. In other words, time should be made available for teachers to teach. Can’t argue with that.
But no doubt there will be a backlash from those who like to complicate things beyond all recognition. After all, they need to justify their own jobs.
Give the bureaucrats the boot, I say.
