LINLITHGOW Palace will host another fashion show next Friday only a month after Chanel booked the historic ruin.

This time it will be Linlithgow Academy S2 art and design students taking centre stage, sending their creations down the special wooden catwalk surrounding the ancient courtyard, created by the French fashion house.

The event, run by Historic Scotland, will also include dancing and music from Academy pupils. Costumed
performers including Mary Queen of Scots will meet visitors and mingle with the crowds, transporting visitors back to years gone by. And with Burns Night just around the corner, the Bard may also make an appearance.

Linlithgow MSP Fiona Hyslop said: “I’m delighted aspiring designers will have the opportunity to showcase their designs. The palace will provide a stunning backdrop for the event, and a great chance to see the staging used in situ.”

Doors open at 2pm, with the event running from 3-4pm. Tickets are free and available in advance from the
palace. A limited number will be
available on the door on the day, but people should book in advance to avoid disappointment.
