A MEMORIAL bench was unveiled at Linlithgow Academy this week for former pupil Lauren Bryant who died tragically last year.

It is just over a year since Lauren, who was only 16, passed away after a horse riding accident in Newton, and the school community wanted to have something to remember her by.

Lauren was found with serious head injuries at Duddingston Farm stables after the accident involving her horse Solo.

David MacKenzie, headteacher at Linlithgow Academy, said: “The school raised over £3000, most of which was given to West Lothian Riding for the Disabled, who have bought a horse and tack. The rest of the money was used to buy a bench with a memorial plaque on it so the memories of Lauren live on in the school.”

The charity offered its thanks, and said the donation would help others.
