A GRAND gesture from the Scottish National Fat Stock Club will make a difference to a Linlithgow charity.

Club chairman Sandy Galbraith presented a £500 cheque from the collection to the Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland shop in the town.

Around £1000 is raised every year at a supper held before a livestock show in Ingliston.

Sandy, of Upper Kinneil Farm, said: “People from all over the country enter their stock and just before it we have a special stockman’s supper where we raise money for charity.

‘‘As chairman this year, I decided to donate to CHSS as one of our committee members had a stroke recently.”

Gemma Brankin, manager at the CHSS shop in Linlithgow, also thanked the club for their generous donation, adding: “All profits help fund vital services for local people and all money raised in Scotland stays in Scotland”.
