Bee disease hits West Lothian

AN outbreak of an insect disease could directly hit the bee-keeping industry in West Lothian.
American Foulbrood, a disease that kills honey bee larva, has been discovered at a farm near Philpstoun by a Scottish Government inspector.
Although not dangerous to humans and not affecting honey quality, it is incurable and all affected hives need to be destroyed, before it hits bee species.
