The Scottish SPCA has launched an investigation
after two cats were dumped at Beecraigs Country Park.

A cyclist discovered the male tabby cats in a cat
carrier on Monday morning.

The cats, named Gilley and Gibson, are being cared for by the animal welfare charity.

Inspector Jenni Surgeon said: “The cats have clearly been someone’s pet until recently as they are both in good condition and very friendly, suggesting they have been well cared.

“However this does not excuse the fact that they have been abandoned, therefore we’d urge anyone who recognises the cats or knows who might have owned them to contact our Animal
Helpline on 03000 999 999.”

Abandoning an animal is an offence under the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006.

RESCUED: The cats have been named Gilley and Gibson by the SSPCA.
