A SENSORY garden in Queensferry got a makeover thanks to staff at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The garden at Queensferry Care in the Community was established at The Haven to give users somewhere to sit outdoors when the weather is good.

Willie Hardie, one of the regular volunteers who has a particular interest in the garden, felt that the garden had been neglected for some time.

So as part of Royal Bank’s Customer Charter Commitment to help local projects, employee Bridgette Kleinman, a regular volunteer for Queensferry Care, mobilised a team to lend a hand with the garden renovation.

The general plan was to cut, dig, rake, paint and generally tidy up the area so it could again be enjoyed by older people in the community.

Mr Willie Hardie was more than willing to direct their efforts and coupled with a steady supply of tea, coffee and biscuits all the jobs were completed and the garden was returned to its former glory.

The garden team were, l-r: Ian Brunton, Andrew McKeever, Bridgette Kleinman, Alyn Steedman, Alasdair Cumming, Mandeep Lamb and Willie Hardie.
