Stunning entries from local green-fingered gardeners have taken the top spots in West Lothian Council’s 2013 annual competition.

The Best Community Garden trophy went to a delighted Eileen Murray for her Burgh Beautiful garden at The Water Yett in Linlithgow.

John Cadzow of Glendevon Farm in Winchburgh scooped a coveted gold plaque, while Jeff and Derval Montgomery from Clark Avenue in Linlithgow were silver plaque winners.

Bronze plaque awards went to Grace Munro of Priorscroft in Torphichen, Dave du Feu, of Greenpark Cottages in Linlithgow achieving the award in both the Vegetable and Wildlife sections, and the Montgomerys of Clark 
Avenue receiving the Containers award.

Judges Alan Agnew from West Lothian Council and Oatridge lecturer Thomas Meenagh praised the “finest floral displays seen in a very long time” and added the 
entrants should be proud of their quality displays.

West Lothian Gardener of the Year award will be announced on Friday, November 22, at Linlithgow Burgh Halls.
