A board listing all the headteachers at Bo’ness Academy has been re-made after it was lost.

During the school’s move in 2000, the board with the ten headteachers names on it went missing and no one was sure where it had gone.

Headteacher David Mitchell said: “It was just one of those things that got misplaced during our move. It is a shame it has taken this long to get a new one up.” However, a new board has been made and erected in the Academy.

Craft and design technician Mr Simpkins built the frame and Colin Vauk was responsible for the lettering.

It is on display next to the school captains board.

Mr Mitchell, who is retiring from the Academy after more than a decade at the helm, is impressed by the new one and is thankful it has been re-created before he left.

He said: “I would like to thank Mr Simpkins and Mr Vauk for their hard work in creating the board with all previous headteachers on it.

“I am glad it is back up on the wall and gives recognition to past members of staff who have led the school by example.

“I am happy to have had this completed before I left as it is something that has been missing from the school for many years.”
