Dates for the fifth annual Bo’ness Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema, where music and movies come alive, have been set.

The festival will run from Wednesday to Sunday, March 18 to 22 at the cinema.

The Festival’s birthday will be celebrated in style with the biggest and boldest programme yet.

The only festival of silent cinema in Scotland will boast a line-up of both classic favourites and little-known gems, together with world premiere performances of new soundtracks commissioned by the Festival, a pop-up outdoor screening and top international guests.

The education and outreach aspect of the Festival will also be expanded, with community workshops, tours and an exhibition.

Organised by Falkirk Community Trust, with key funding from Creative Scotland and Falkirk Council, the festival has become a key annual event at the Hippodrome.

Ian Scott, chairman of Falkirk Community Trust said: “This is a milestone year for the Hippodrome Festival as we build on the successful relationships the team has developed in the first four years. We’re delighted the Festival is receiving continued key funding support from Falkirk Council and Creative Scotland, and welcoming new project funding for 2015.”

Tickets will go on sale when the full programme is announced in early February.
