Have your say

Who do you look to when you are feeling down the dumps and need cheered up? Who is there to provide a laugh, a joke or just a friendly smile?

If you know someone who fits the bill, then why not put him or her forward for the Scottish Smile Awards?

Scotland’s Happiness Day takes place on Saturday, November 2, and to mark the occasion Johnston Press Scotland has joined forces with Stress the Positive to launch the 2013 Smile Awards. The Smile Awards celebrate the unsung happy heroes that exist in our lives and communities.

The first candidate for the 2013 Smile Awards in the Journal and Gazette area is Eric Ross, janitor at Grange Primary School in Bo’ness for the past 30 years.

He was nominated by one of our Bo’ness readers for his dedication to the school and the local community.

Carolynne McArthur, acting headteacher at Grange Primary said: “Eric is a valued member of our team. Nothing is too much trouble for him. He works hard to ensure that the school is a kept in good order. He is well liked and respected by staff, pupils and parents.”
