A mixture of sunshine and showers didn’t spoil the fun at the fifth annual Caledonian Produce fun day.
Around 1200 tickets were made available to staff for this year’s event, held at Kinneil Estate, and the mix of fun and games was well received by everyone.
Caledonian Produce’s Vicky Donaldson said: ‘‘We try to provide something new each year to keep folk interested. This year we had Segway Scooters which proved very popular.’’
Bo’ness and Carriden Band got the afternoon’s proceedings off to a flying start with a selection of popular tunes and the town’s talented Children’s Theatre kept the excitement going on stage with two 30-minute spots.
Other fun attractions included face and nail-painting courtesy of St Andrew’s Parish Church and a bouncy castle for the younger children.
There was also a barbecue and stalls included the Silverleaf and Inkspot bookshop and Absolutely Sweet, both based in Bo’ness town centre.
A petting zoo with cuddly rabbits and guinea pigs was popular but there was less enthusiasm for the snakes and spiders!
Goodie bags were handed out to all of the children on arrival at the park.
Added Vicky: ‘‘The family fun day is now an established annual event along with the staff Christmas party.
‘‘Although principally aimed at staff, their family and friends, we never turn anyone away. If they are visiting Kinneil Estate they are made welcome.
‘‘We’ve been lucky with the weather since we started and, despite a few showers, Saturday was another success.’’
