Plans for bike trails in Kinneil Woods are taking a step forward - but more volunteers and support is needed to make the dream a reality.

The White Lady Mountain Bike Group originally started the campaign for trails in the woods four years ago, and commisioned a
feasibility study in 2012.

Current chairman Rob Archer took over in November last year and he believes this is a pivotal time for the group.

He said: “At the end of February we applied for funding for the first phase, and will be applying to Sport Scotland later this year. We will need to do some fundraising too.

“The overall budget for the 7.5km of trails is going to be a few hundred thousand pounds.

“We really want to get the community involved - the
vision is bike trails for all abilities and ages.

“We really want to grow our membership, and highlight to people that we are still here.”

To find out more about the plans, head along to the group’s Annual General Meeting at Bo’ness Bowling Club, Grange Terrace, on Thursday, April 17, 7 for 7.30pm start.

All welcome.
