Queensferry could be in line for a cash boost from funding to support the economic development of coastal communities.
The Coastal Communities Fund, announced by Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne. has been welcomed by Edinburgh West MP Mike Crockart.
The fund, which includes £4 million for Scotland, will support a wide range of projects, including the environment, education and health.
It will be financed by the government through the allocation of funding, equivalent to 50 per cent of the revenues of the Crown Estate’s marine activities, with separate funding for England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Highlands and Islands and the rest of Scotland.
The MP said: “Coastal communities, like Queensferry, have always been and continue to be of great importance to Scotland not just in financial terms but also culturally.’’
