A GROUP set up in Queensferry to attract new investment for local businesses and the town, has appointed a chairman.
Queensferry Ambition has appointed Malcolm Brown, head of corporate communications at Scotmid Co-operative, as the new chairman while Paul Steward, owner of The Boat House, has been elected vice-chairman.
Malcolm Brown said of his appointment: “I am absolutely delighted that the newly formed board of Queensferry Ambition has shown faith and trust in me to help take Queensferry Ambition forward in what promises to be an exciting but challenging time for the area.
“I look forward to working with Diane Brown, BID manager, the board and all the businesses in the BID area.
‘‘This is not about one business or even just a handful of businesses. It is about a huge team effort involving all those businesses that can see the many and varied opportunities that can be created or are available for Queensferry.”
Mr Brown added: “Although there was an overwhelming yes vote for the BID I also appreciate that some businesses said no.
‘‘I know some of the reasons behind that decision but rather than go over old ground I hope that, going forward, we can convince those businesses, by our positive actions, that the BID has something to offer their businesses. All of us working together can achieve that goal.”
