Linlithgow and District 41 Club held their first meeting of the 2014-15 season on a canal barge on the Union Canal.
The evening consisted of a wine tasting on the barge, conducted by James McCallum, whilst enjoying a trip westward towards the Avon Aquaduct.
On their return to the Canal Centre, an interesting talk on the original planning of the canal route was given by Mike Smith.
The evening was rounded off with a meal at the local Delhi’s Winter restaurant.
41 Club is the pet name for The Association of Ex-Round Tablers’ Clubs.
The local club’s members can be immediately recognised during the Linlithgow Marches as they parade along the high street wearing their distinctive deerstalker caps.
