Three coffee lovers have taken their passion for java to the caffeine induced heights of Edinburgh’s first ever
coffee festival.

Martin Dare (45), Jennifer Coyle (25) and Shona Muir (47) all live in Linlithgow and work in events but it was their passion for coffee that saw them deciding to set up the festival, which opens on Saturday, October 3.

The festival will celebrate the city’s bustling coffee scene and is sure to be quite the occasion for café culture vultures and discerning coffee lovers.

Martin said: “We launched the coffee festival from our own passion for drinking coffee.

“There hasn’t been anything like this in Edinburgh before to provide a platform for local independent coffee houses and micro roasting companies.

“We’ve found ourselves being really busy in Edinburgh but we’re always in and out of the local coffee shops in Linlithgow like Taste and Brodies.”

There will be around 27 handpicked artisan coffee roasters, speciality tea stalls, cafés, chocolatiers and coffee equipment companies exhibiting.

There will also be the chance to learn from the experts in interactive workshops, tastings and demonstrations including a barista competition. Daniel Todd from Brodies Coffee Shop in Linlithgow is taking part.

The festival is being held in Mansfield Traquair and for more information visit www.edinburghcoffee
