Concerned members of the community are set to search the local area to help find a missing 23-year-old man.

Matthew Elmer was last seen in Poplar Grove, Livingston at around 6pm on Saturday, February 13 and his disappearance was described as “bizarre”.

Friends of Matthew have organised multiple public searches in West Lothian which are set to take place over the weekend, including one in Beecraigs and Winchburgh.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jogging trousers and white canvas laced up trainers. He has black studs in both ears and was wearing a grey woollen hat. He is white with blue eyes and dark brown hair, which is short at the sides and sometimes styled on top. He is 5ft 8 inches tall of slim build.

His friends have asked anyone with spare time to help them with their search efforts but to dress appropriately for the weather conditions.

More information about how to get involved with the search is available on Facebook event page ’Search for Matt 2.0’.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
