It’s all over for yet another year- and there was no crying, with the exception of tears of joy.
Eleven local charities, voluntary organisations and good causes have all received cheques totalling the huge sum of £4500.
The cash pot was put up by Caledonian Produce of Bo’ness for the third year running, and proved yet again to be a very succesful competition, with nearly 30 entrants all fighting for a place in the share of the prize fund.
The company, which is the largest employer in Bo’ness, with over 1200 employees, raises funds for good causes by donating money made in the staff shop.
And the Bo’ness Hospital Garden Project was a worthy winner, walking away with a cheque for £200.
This volunteer run service provides residents of the hospital with a garden area where they can sit and enjoy the outdoors.
Karene Grant said: “As a volunteer project we are dependant upon the generosity of others and winning this money is fantastic. There is only myself and Janice Anderson who run the project.
‘‘We shall be using the money to help replace some old hanging baskets and to make sure the garden is as colourful as it can be for the patients who take great enjoyment from it.”
