A firm which once occupied premises in Kirkliston and employed many people there has now been bought in a deal with William Grant & Sons.
The Drambuie company was put up for auction earlier in the year. The whisky giant is believed to have paid around £100 million for the brand, according to industry commentators. It will add the liqueur to its stable.
The company was owned by the MacKinnon family who famously held the secret recipe. They had links to Linlithgow too, particularly the golf club. In 1950 Gena MacKinnon bought the land and then leased it to the club.
