Ducks are a
splash hit with Marches

Linlithgow Rotary Club duck race.

Linlithgow Rotary Club duck race.

Try your luck with a duck and support Linlithgow Marches as well as other local events is the call this week.

The popular pre-Marches duck race takes place on Monday, June 9, at the usual venue of the Mill Burn at the west end of The Peel - and there are still some ducks available.

Organised by Platform 3 pub boss Iain Gibson and his regular customers, this event raises funds not just for the Marches but also Linlithgow gala day and other community events in Linlithgow.

The majority of ducks have now been snapped up but the remainder can be ‘‘bought’’ at £2 for individuals or £25 for businesses - just pop into Platform 3 in the High Street and hand over your cash.

Said Iain Gibson: ‘‘We’re again delighted to hold the duck race just a few days before the Linlithgow Marches celebrations. There are a few ducks still available to anyone who wants to participate.’’

The ducks will be released on Monday, June 9, at 7pm.

Marches Day programmes are available now, price £3.
