A major investment was
unveiled as construction got underway last week to extend the facilities at Xcite Linlithgow.

The project will result in Linlithgow becoming home to the largest gym in West Lothian with over 125 pieces of kit – more than double the amount of apparatus currently in use.

Linlithgow will also boast an additional three fitness studios taking the centre’s total to four.

New changing areas and toilet facilities are also being installed as well as an additional 100 car park spaces. The popular café will also be extended.

The project is being undertaken in two phases, the first of which got underway last week when the first sod was cut.

Phase one will include adding an extension to the existing sports hall and studio to create a new gym as well as renovating the current studio.

Works on phase one are expected to be completed in October.

The car park extension is due to start this month and be completed by late June.

Phase two will start following completion of the new gym when the project will move onto renovation of the previous gym into two new studios as well as the changing and toilet facilities.

There will be temporary changing facilities during phase two which is scheduled to be completed sometime in early 2016.
