Tributes were paid to Ferry Fair chairman Graham Holmes this week following his death last week.
Graham (58), passed away at home last Thursday after battling cancer.
As the Ferry Fair chairman on two occasions for over 20 years, Graham was a well-known and respected figure in the town.
As well as the Ferry Fair, he was heavily involved in piping and was a one-time chairman of the local pipe band.
He was also involved with Christmas in Queensferry and a keen supporter of the local RNLI.
Married to Liz, Graham was an engineer by profession and worked with British Aerospace and Selex.
Ferry Fair Committee secretary David Steel said: “We were all deeply shocked at the suddenness of Graham’s passing and I still can’t get used to him not being around.
“It was an honour and a privilege to have worked with Graham and a great pleasure to have been a close personal friend.
“Graham’s contribution to the well-being of our community will never be forgotten and I’ll never forget the huge effort, under very difficult circumstances, he put in to ensure the success of his final Ferry Fair.”
Graham’s funeral will be held at Warriston Crematorium today (Friday) at 12pm.
