At the recent 2015 Scottish Open event held in Meadowbank Sports Centre, Wallace Fencing Academy were fortunate to have success in both the Mens Epee and Sabre.

Callum Johnston took the top spot, winning gold in the Epee event in a closely fought match with the score reaching 15 -14 and Calum eventually winning with just 13 seconds to spare.

Ross Manson put in a creditable second place bronze in the Mens Sabre.

He lost his semi-final match to a more experienced commonwealth fencer who went on to win the event.

The club runs on Tuesdays from 6.30 to 9.30pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm in Linlithgow Academy.

Anyone interested in learning more about fencing as a sport, or to join the club, is invited to pop along and have a chat with club members and officials.

All kit is provided so prospective new members just need to supply training shoes, tracksuit trousers, a t-shirt and bags of enthusiasm.
