The countdown to the 77th Ferry Fair Festival in Queensferry has begun.
The town’s annual festivities kick off tomorrow (Saturday) with their opening concert in the masonic hall and will culminate next Saturday, August 10, with the fair procession, the crowning of Queen-elect Aisling McDonald and an afternoon of street entertainment.
Ferry Fair chairman Graham Holmes said: ‘‘The Ferry Fair Festival is staged for the children of Queensferry and it would be great to see the community rally to support all the events over the coming week.’’
He added: ‘‘As always we have to thank the small band of volunteers behind the scenes who help to ensure the annual event goes ahead.
‘‘Each year brings its problems and this year was no different with some committee members having to take a step back for health reasons.
‘‘Ideally, we would love to see some fresh faces come forward and pledge their support for what is the town’s big event of the year.”
