Forest Melody was sew good ... it won!

A piece of embroidery created by local youngsters has scooped a national award.

The Linlithgow Young Embroiderers, aged seven to 17, took part in the De Denne Competition and won the group category with their entry ‘Forest Melody’.

Group leader Jane Charlton said: “As it is the Young Embroiderers’ 40th birthday this year, the Guild is going to archive the piece in the Guild Collection.

“To date no Young Embroiderers’ work has been included so it is a great honour. I feel very proud of Linlithgow Young Embroiderers.”

It is now on display at Nifty Needles in Linlithgow.
