QUEENSFERRY MP Mike Crockart has helped launch the Royal Mail’s latest set of stamps.
The MP joined forces with Thomas Docherty, MP for Dunfermline and West Fife, at the Forth Bridge to launch the first class stamp, pictured left.
Mr Crockart said: “The Forth Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in Scotland and around the world. I am delighted that the Royal Mail has included it in its latest special collection.”
The Forth Railway Bridge stamp is one of a set of 26 1st Class UK A-Z stamps, which feature some of the most famous landmarks from all four countries in the United Kingdom.
The first part of the journey commences this week with the launch of UK A-Z Part One, which reads from A to L. The Forth Bridge represents letter F.
Ian McKay, director of Scottish Affairs, Royal Mail Group said: “Our A to Z stamps showcase some of the nation’s most famous features, celebrating areas across the UK that are enjoyed by millions of people. Not only are these places much loved landmarks, they also reflect the variety of structures and sights which can be found across the UK.
“The Forth Bridge is such an iconic Scottish landmark and it makes for a wonderfully powerful image on a 1st Class stamp.”
