A fourth person has died following the M9 crash last Friday evening.

Police confirmed Sajjad Ahmad (37) passed away in Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert, late yesterday.

His silver Mercedes was involved in a collision with a white Vauxhall van on the stretch of motorway between Linlithgow and Polmont around 9pm.

Mr Ahmad’s wife, Saadia, also 37, was pronounced dead at the scene, and their nine-year-old daughter Ayesha died in the early hours of Saturday in Forth Valley Royal.

Mark Hansen (42), the van driver, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Two boys, aged ten and 14, remain in a serious condition in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow and Forth Valley Royal.
