Along with Yvonne Morrison she has headed up organisation of the 2015 gala day which involved about 100 children in the retinue and was watched by hundreds of proud friends and relatives who saw Queen Viktoria Kuzma crowned by Mrs Betty Hamilton.
Although the day itself was cold it remained dry and the children and adults involved had a great time.
In Kirkliston they have a parade from the school playground to Allison Park where the crowning ceremony then takes place.
This year the lady crowning the queen had been chosen by the village following a public nomination process and she rode with the Queen-Elect in a horse-drawn carriage in the procession.
Bands included the Linlithgow Reed Band who have a very busy week!
Betty Hamilton has lived in Kirkliston all her life and is a member of the church guild as well as the ‘rural’.
In fact, we would run out of space if we told you everything she is involved with but it is a mark of the respect which village residents have for her that she was chosen for the honour of performing the coronation ceremony which she carried out with great poise.
Herald Christopher Marshall read the Queen’s proclamation and then stood dutifully to attention throughout the crowning ceremony, resplendent in his kilt outfit.
Queen Viktoria herself was pretty as a picture and smiled broadly all day but most of all when the regal crown was placed on her head turning her from queen-elect into the real thing.
Fairy Queen Ellie Wrens and lady in waiting Holly Richmond were the other principal characters.
