Praise is being heaped on generous locals who have donated food items for the needy in Linlithgow and surrounding area.
In March this year West Lothian Foodbank, in conjunction with local churches, opened a distribution centre in Linlithgow.
At the time concern were voiced as to whether Linlithgow needed a Foodbank. But since its opening, a three day supply of food has been donated to 46 people locally and 1446 across the county.
Marshall Green, who helps to co-ordinate the Linlithgow Foodbank said: “It is very heart-warming to see our local community recognising a need and supporting in practical terms. It is good to know that the Christian ethos of looking after our neighbours is still alive and well in West Lothian.’’
Foodbank vouchers are available from the CIS office at in Linlithgow Library. Vouchers are also available from 183 High Street.
