A former run down playpark off Queensferry’s High Street is to be transformed by local environmental group, GreenFerry.

Following a participatory charrette organised by local architect, Will Tunnel and Queensferry BID, the Old Vennel area was identified as a useful space which might be developed for community use.

GreenFerry is now set to organise plans, investigate grants and make something of this long-abandoned space.

Joyce Faulkner, who recently stepped down as GreenFerry chairman, wished the new committee well as she outlined the activities, awards, and achievements of GreenFerry over the past 10 years.

These can now be viewed on GreenFerry’s new website

Before formally stepping down, Joyce thanked all those who had been involved in GreenFerry over the years – the committees, past and present, their families, local organisations, community groups, council workers, residents, local schools, volunteers, all sponsors and former treasurer Andrea Howe.

She added: “The support which GreenFerry has enjoyed in the community has been very much appreciated.”
