Chas Scorcese loved this “darkly funny” animated comedy – probably because Jimmy Depalma wasn’t there to annoy him.
Crude humour aplenty, delivered by helium voiced suppository capsules, the film shows Gru in his younger years, with hair, as he tries to build his bad guy reputation.
Like Mr Bean, the Minions prove you don’t need to indulge in witty banter to get a laugh.
