A support group is offering help to men newly diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The West Lothian Prostate Cancer Support Group (WLPCSG) run a successful buddy programme that helps link up those newly diagnosed with members to help share their recent experience of all the various treatments and how they impacted on their life.
Men with prostate cancer can be offered a range of treatment options and the support group has found that by talking to their experienced members those recently diagnosed become more aware of what is involved and this can help them decide why a certain treatment option is best suited to their situation.
These man to man discussions have proved successful in clearing issues not always covered in talks at the clinic and help provide the clarity needed to face up to what will happen to them at this difficult time.
WLPCSG provide invaluable awareness, help and support on one of the most important issues for men’s health.
Their next meeting is on Thursday, May 12, at 7pm in the West Lothian Ability Centre, Carmondean Centre Road, Livingston or call Charlie Hogg on 01506 845981.
