Cyrenians is an independent charity that has operated with success since 1968.

We tackle the causes of social exclusion and help people affected by tough times.

This year the ‘Golden Years, linking into the community’ service was launched in partnership with West Lothian Council.

The service is operated West Lothian wide for over 65s and tackles isolation and loneliness by offering a volunteer befriender. The service offers four different types of befriending; telephone, face to face, group and drivers.

The aim of the service is to help to reduce the feeling of loneliness and isolation and to increase feelings of self worth. We are currently looking to recruit volunteers in the West Lothian area, please get in touch.
