A HEPATITIS C screening van will be at Bo’ness Library this Tuesday, September 18, to raise awareness among Central and Eastern Europeans living locally.
It aims to offer information and testing to people who may not otherwise realise they are at risk, or have the chance to get tested.
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne virus that can go undetected for many years, because people are often symptomless.
If left untreated, it can cause cirrhosis and liver cancer, but if caught early it can be effectively treated.
The Bo’ness stop (noon to 8pm) is part of a Scottish tour, organised by The Hepatitis C Trust with Scottish Government support, and in partnership with local health services and community groups.
