Nineteen new double decker buses are to be rolled out across West Lothian by August after First Scotland East confirmed it is investing £4.1 million in its fleet this year.

The new buses, which are being manufactured by Falkirk-based Alexander Dennis Ltd, are all “low carbon certified” and feature the latest engines, offering a significant CO2 saving and lower emissions.

John Gorman of First Scotland East said: “We are determined to make the bus a more compelling proposition, attract more customers and grow our business.

“Ensuring customers travel in fit for purpose vehicles which provide added value is pivotal to our future success.”
