Almost every home has a tub full of coppers lying around which is added to on a daily basis as family members lighten the load in their pockets.
And now is your chance to put that spare cash to good use by joining the Journal and Gazette’s Jam Jar Army.
Paul Fleming, headteacher at Kinneil Primary School in Bo’ness is backing our appeal. He said: ‘‘The ‘Jam Jar Army’ campaign is a very creative and easy way to support a good cause.’’
All the money collected will go to local events such as Linlithgow Gala Day, Bo’ness Fair, the Ferry Fair and Linithgow Marches.
All we are asking you to do, be it a family, a business or at work, is to place a clearly labelled jam jar or similar in a prominent place and watch the total build up.
You can hand your contributions into our office at Gateway Business Park, Beancross Road, Grangemouth, or substitute it for an empty one and keep encouraging people to drop their spare pennies into it.
If you have dreamed up a particularly novel way of collecting then why not give us a ring on 01324 690222 and let us know all about it. We might even send the photographer round to take a picture.
