A GROUP of children from Linlithgow have raised over £350 for Cancer Research UK after staging a yard sale.

The event held at Stewart Avenue on Saturday, July 7, was organised by Daniel Burgess and Ashlea Macdonald, (both 11), with help from friends, Emily MacDonald,
Connor McMeechan, Sophie
MacDonald, Megan McMeechan and Ryan Burgess,

Despite the heavy rain throughout the day, they managed to sell on a wide selection of bric-a-brac, toys, books and cakes. They even raised £75 from a raffle which several local business donated to to boost their
final total to £363.

Daniel’s mum Lesley Burgess said: “We are very proud of the
efforts that they put into the sale and want to thanks all those who
donated prizes, baked cakes for them to sell, and to everyone who came along to support them in
raising this money for Cancer
Research UK.

‘‘This is the third year that Daniel and his friends have staged a yard sale. In the past they have raised £270 for the charity.”
