MORE than 700 entries were entered in various categories for this year’s annual Kirkliston Village Show.
Formerly the horticultural and craft show, the committee this year chose to revamp the title as it celebrated its 40th anniversary.
And it proved very pop-ular with a high number of entries in all categories despite the poor summer causing problems with the green-fingered flower and vegetable growers.
Sandra Tulloch, show secretary, said: “The show was a great success and we were impressed with the amount of entries we received. “The show is only open to people within the village and children who attend the school or nursery, but we had many of the Beavers, Rainbows, Brownies, the after-school club and the local nursery enter the crafts sections.’’
The best in show winner was David Buchanan with his hanging basket while Robert Brechin won the highest number of exhibits.
