LAMP set for fabulous Kiss me Kate performance

Excitement is building ahead of Linlithgow Amateur Musical Productions upcoming performance of musical Kiss Me Kate, by Cole Porter.

The comedy is a musical version of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew and centres around the conflict both on and off stage between Fred Graham (John Knox), show’s director, producer and star Petruchio and his leading lady, ex-wife Lilli Vanessi, who plays Kate – the Shrew (Siobhan Smith).

There is an intriguing romantic sub plot with Lois Lane, actress playing Bianca (Hannah Easton) and her gambler boyfriend Bill and two thugs who are there to recover their owner’s debt.

President Alison McLean said: “I am delighted to welcome back our Production Team of Sandy Queenan, Director and Eddie MacLennan, Musical Director.

They are joined this year by Claire Withnell, Choreographer, and have all worked so hard with the company, giving such a huge amount of time and energy to produce a fabulous show.

I would also like to thank our fabulous cast who have been busy rehearsing together since May.

This year I have been delighted to see so many of our former children’s theatre members join us for this production and I hope that they have enjoyed their LAMP adult company experience.

The show will be performed from Monday to Saturday at Linlithgow Academy at 7.30pm. Tickets are available through Lamp’s Box Office 07949 475932 or online linlithgow-musicals.co.uk.
