LINLITHGOW town service buses will run later than published after a technical hitch caused concern for passengers and town centre businesses.
The town service timetable changed on Monday when Blue took over the contract from First Bus. The new timetable hinted that the Saturday service would end around 3pm.
A West Lothian Council spokesman confirmed this week that the town service would not be cut by two hours.
He said: “There is a link to a timetable on the internet. Unfortunately it shows that the service ends too early on Saturday afternoon and we are arranging that the service will in fact end later on Saturday than published.
“We have made arrangements for the new service to continue operating on Saturday every 30 minutes until the last departure from the Cross at 1711 which returns at 1748. This is equivalent to the previous service.”
Changes in local bus timetables were announced a few weeks ago with West Lothian Council insisting the local bus service timetable had been changed slightly but would remain half hourly. However, it does arrive in the town centre 10 minutes later than previously.
Linlithgow bus user Hazel McMartin said: “I got on the new town service today and missed my train. I used to get it at 7.30am to get me down the street for my train. Five of us used that 7.30am bus and we can no longer use the town service as we can’t catch the usual train.”
