A LINLITHGOW mathlete is hoping to come out number one in this year’s Miss West Lothian contest.

Roberta Daisy Johnstone (19) from Mains Road, will fly the flag for Linlithgow in the final this Wednesday at Grand Central, Livingston.

She said: “I am a maths-mad person and rarely miss a challenge when it comes to anything mathematical.”

Although Roberta has a great chance of becoming the first Linlithgow girl to hold the title, the real winner on the night will be charity.

Every penny raised at the final will go to the West Lothian children’s charity River Kids. A panel of 14 judges will pick the winner, with entrants coming from every town in West Lothian to the event where Lauren Mcleod from Breich will hand over her crown.

Admission is £5, with the final starting at 7.45pm. There will be a full programme of entertainment.
