A pair of Linlithgow girls will go head to head in the Miss West Lothian contest next week.

The regional competition which has failed to produce a Linlithgow winner since it began in 1994 will pit best friends Chloe Milligan and Roberta Johnston against each other in the final.

It will be Roberta’s second attempt, having finished in last year’s top five, but she’s hoping her friend will become the first Linlithgow winner.

Roberta of Mains Road said: “She’s superb and deserves to win. She’s a beautiful girl with a beautiful personality.”

Chloe, from Bailielands, is studying Biology at St Andrew’s University, and before starting, she spent a year in Uganda with charity Project Trust, teaching science to 15-18 year olds in a village called Kiwangala.

She said: “I enjoy travelling and learning about different cultures and am keen to spend some time working abroad when I finish University.

Roberta enjoys going to the gym and socialising.

The final takes place at Grand Central, Livingston, on Wednesday, December 4. Doors open at 8pm, and admission is £5 with all proceeds going to the charity Brighter Days, for kids with ADHD.

A panel of 12 judges will choose the winner from the 20 finalists. There will
also be entertainment, with the headline act being 11-year-old Saski Eng, who featured in a recent BBC documentary and won the 2013 Edinburgh’s Got Talent event.
