Best friends Chloe Milligan and Roberta Johnstone, both from Linlithgow, entered last year’s Miss West Lothian charity event, taking second and third spot.

Now the two young women from the town hope to do even better, by becoming the first ever winners from the town in the event’s 20-year history.

Self-confessed shopaholic Katryna McLeod, from Avalon Gardens, and hairstylist Rachel McWhirter, from Moray Drive, who has 10 tattoos and six piercings, are early entrants for this year’s event.

The 20th anniversary final will take place at Grand Central, Livingston, on Wednesday, December 3.

All proceeds from the night will go to the Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust.

Entry to this year’s event is now open, with forms available on the website at: www.misswestlothian.co.uk/entryform.html
