THE relaunch of one of Linlithgow’s favourite bookshops turned heads on Saturday when a couple of feathered friends arrived.
Little Owls bookshop on the High Street, formerly Blast Off Books, opened its doors with a special celebration.
Jill Pattle who took over the children’s bookshop just before Christmas, was delighted with the day.
She said: “It was a very successful relaunch - it was lovely to see so many people and to get support from customers old and new.”
The fun day included singing and story telling, owl mask and finger puppet making, offers and treats and the headline act - snowy owl Del and European eagle owl Olly from the Five Sisters Zoo.
Jill added: “I was impressed with the owls. People loved them - it was really good fun. It was nice to see people
Competitions were set for different age groups with drawings for the younger children and story telling for the older kids.
On the new name for the bookshop, Jill said: “I just like owls - I wanted to reflect what owls represent. They are supposed to be wise and it goes with a bookshop and children. It’s a lovely symbol and instantly recognisable.”
