The Friends of Linlithgow Rose will benefit from a £500 boost to their funds if Mark Bradley and his Rose squad can bring the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup back to Prestonfield at the end of this season.
And it’s all thanks to a £50 free bet offered to the Rose manager by Ladbrokes in Linlithgow as part of the firm’s build up to a big weekend of Junior Cup football across the country.
Richard Montgomery, Ladbrokes area manager said: “We have a growing interest in our junior football market both in our shops and online.
‘‘Linlithgow Rose are among the favourites to win the trophy and we wish them the best of luck in this season’s tournament - even if it may end up costing us some money!”
Whilst more than happy to place the bet and let his team take their chances, Mark Bradley is taking nothing for granted.
He said: “This is one of the toughest competitions in football and winning it again would be a fantastic achievement.”
Jon Mahoney, chairman of the Friends of Linlithgow Rose, added: “We’ve already got an eye on banking the cash at the end of the season and in turn helping to make our club as good as it can be on the pitch where it really matters to the supporters.
‘‘As supporters we all live for the day when the cup comes back to Linlithgow and we’ve been very lucky to experience that three times in recent years.
‘‘We obviously respect Ardrossan Winton Rovers and we know that it’s a long road to the final but we start off every season with the ambition of winning the league and the cup.
‘‘We’re grateful to Ladbrokes for the gesture and we’re enjoying working with them to promote their junior football betting options.”
