Falkirk Council’s litter strategy team was in North Street, Bo’ness, with their special golden bin - and prizes for using it - to talk to people about their district-wide food on the go litter campaign.
It aims to tackle the growing problem of rubbish - like crisp packets, drinks cans, coffee cups and leftover food - dropped mainly at lunch time.
The slogan “Litter: There’s no excuse” is the council’s most well-known litter slogan, shown by a survey that states 87 per cent of the general public were familiar with it.
Litter droppers risk £50 fixed penalty notices.
It costs Falkirk Council about £3 million a year to clean up litter, which is paid for through the council tax.
