Bo'ness street to share £1.5million lottery win

THE sun will definitely be shining over Bo'ness on Sunday afternoon – no matter the weather – as a sizzling £1.5million is given away to lucky residents.

A mystery EH51 0?? postcode will be revealed at Douglas Park as the winning combo in the biggest-yet People's Postcode Lottery hand out.

Invites will be delivered by today (Friday) to thousands of playing residents for the big 'Postcode Belter' party where the winners will be revealed. All players who fully match that postcode are guaranteed a cheque.

Ticket-holders who partially match the golden postcode, except for the last letter, will also be celebrating.

The exact amounts will be unveiled on Sunday and reflect how many people in that area play and how many tickets individuals have bought.

There are three Postcode Belters a year and in March at Inverness, with a prize pot of just over 1.1million, four big winners took away 199,679 and 99,835.

People's Postcode Lottery presenter Angus Purden will be handing over the larger-than-life cheques in Douglas Park.

He said: "I'm thrilled that we'll be celebrating another huge 'Postcode Belter'. With our biggest prize pot yet, I just can't wait to see the reactions of our lucky winners – EH51 0 players will be in for a summer like no other!"

The EH51 0 area covers the western half of Bo'ness, with Linlithgow Road a rough dividing line, and it takes eight posties to deliver its mail.

Absolutely everyone from the town is welcome to turn out at Douglas Park on Sunday from 2-4pm, with free ice cream, music from Ceilidhonia and an appearance from Miss Scotland.

As Scotland's very own charity lottery, the People's Postcode sees 40p from each 2 ticket sold going directly to good causes like Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres and Missing People in Scotland.

The lottery winnings are tax-free and the winning postcode is selected by a random number generator, certified and approved by the Gambling Commission.
